  • Thanks. I start on 7 Jan and will have 20 sessions. Another period of stressing out waiting for blood test results after it's finished, but the success rate is very good. Lovely weather here for Christmas Day. Further north not so good though. X

  • Hi Court. Thank you for asking. I've now had 3/20 sessions and am getting used to the routine. No side effects yet, but plenty of time, if thet even happens. Today it took ages, I thought they had forgotten me. Lying on the bench with the necessary fullish bladder, then wanting to 'go' but having to lie very still. On Friday I see my bowel cancer consultant for the last time and we shall celebrate the five year mark, which was actually 13 November but she had to postpone because of my shingles. Rash is fading nicely now after 7 weeks or so. Hope you are ok and keeping warm.

  • Oh can just imaging trying to hold a full bladder in must be tough .

Delighted to hear you have got off to a good start and everything else is heading in a good direction .

    Keep in touch .

  • Hi there. I'm still here and keeping an eye on you all. My radiotherapy finished on 1 st Feb for the prostate cancer and the side effects eventually went. The follow up appt was brief and I'm to see him in about 3 months with an up to date PSA test. I was left a bit confused about survival rates etc but I suppose the main thing is the now time and I feel ok now! Best wishes to all from a getting chilly but not cold yet NZ. I'm still celebrating the disease free status after 5 years for the bowel cancer btw.
