Hi, my brother in law was diagnosed  with colon cancer 6 months ago with mets to liver and peritoneum. He just finished his 12 round of chemo. Although masses are shrinking, not at a huge rate. He has started having pan in his hip and into his groin. excruciating pain- The Dr did an x-ray but said it was probably a sprain or pull as he "saw" nothing. Has anyone on here had the same symptom and been diagnosed with secondary bone cancer? If you have sec bone cancer, what were your symptoms before being diagnosed?  He is 40 yrs old with 2 children. Thank you so much.

  • Hi.

Sorry to hear he is in such pain. The Pet scan might be an option to ensure all is well.

Hope this resolved for him soon.

    Much love

I have never heard of bone mets from colon cancer. The trouble is that when we have or have had cancer we tend to think every thing is cancer related. Sometimes it is just plain ailments.

    Hi,

Not exactly the same, but I was diagnosed with stsge 3 rectal cancer Jul 21. Suffered with severe back pain and was eventually further diagnosed with stage 4 when the pain was found to be bone mets in my spine and pelvis.

Not the normal route for bowel/rectal but it happened anyway. But it still may be what the doc said... unrelated to the cancer.

Getting an MRI is prob better than X-Ray for this.(I'm no expert though!)
