Other half, after at least two years of various gastric problems has now gone to the consultant that is managing my cancer. The Consultant has booked a coloniscopy for him.
How am I going to manage am struggling to look after myself let alone someone else who is highly likely to have cancer as well.
Why now, why didn't he go earlier the symptoms were obvious. It could have been sorted before mine was found. He won't wear his hearing aids so, conveniently can't hear me when try to give advice or ask questions. He hears everyone else of course!
If he's not glued to the only toilet we have (causing problems with emptying my stoma bag) he is asleep.
It is so frustrating I know I shouldn't let it get to me. But ...
Hi FiveO Sending you a big virtual hug. It’s tough when you have your own issues and don’t feel like you’re getting support from your other half but know that they’ll expect it from you? As it stands at the minute, you don’t know for sure that he has cancer and the colonoscopy may show it to be something like diverticulitis, colitis, crohns which may be manageable through diet.
Is there a reason that he’s asleep so much. Is he elderly? Has he had a blood test recently to check his iron levels? Is it just a habit? Do you go out and about much like for walks etc. I’ve seen from a previous post that you know not to let your stoma bag get too full so perhaps you could explain this to him and ask him to be as quick as possible in the bathroom and not chill out in there!
Do you go to any local cancer support groups? There’s sometimes a Maggies centre at your local hospital which has lots of information or they can be at local leisure centres for example. If you put your postcode in the link below then it will show places

Ive also attached a link to a recent page about managing stress
Do you need help managing stress
I notice that you’re also waiting for a stoma reversal so here’s another link and if you look at the sections at the top of the ileostomy, colostomy etc. board then there’s a sections for reversal and LARS which has loads of posts

Sorry about all the reading and hope some of it helps
Take care
