I’ve been experiencing loose stools and loss of appetite for the last few months. GP arranged bloods and FIT test. Bloods have come back ok and FIT test came back at 7, which they have marked as ‘satisfactory’.
When I’ve googled it, a level of 7 does mean that blood was found so how can this be marked as satisfactory? Surely this warrants a colonoscopy? I’m terrified I have bowel cancer

  • Hi

sorry can not comment this but it might be helpful

FIT result is less than 10 – Your doctor might call this FIT negative.

For most people this means that they don’t have cancer. It’s important to go back to your GP if your symptoms continue, change, or get worse even if you have normal test results.

A normal FIT result doesn’t completely rule out cancer, and depending on your symptoms, your GP may decide they would like you to have some more tests.
