CAPOX - Have I failed?

Hi Espere  so sorry to hear of your reaction. Can I ask were you given any anti sickness meds  to take after the infusion. Only asking as it seems to vary. My OH was given 3 days of steroids & Antisickness meds to take home and whilst he felt nausea he wasn’t actually sick. But everyone is different and Im sure there will be people on here who have experienced exactly what you are. 
Plus he had other meds on standby  antisickness & some if he had diarrhoea.

Hi Espere  sorry to hear you have had a bad reaction on the chemo. I haven’t been sick on mine and have definitely felt naseus and even retching at the thought of taking the tablets. I use the anti sickness also - even when I haven’t felt sick just in case. I know of a lady who was just on the tablet and also said she was sick once on them and then was given something to combat it. Hopefully the chemo will help you soon - but please don’t think you have failed. It could be that they just need to give you something else to combat it. Hi Bella12 Yes, I was given anti-sickness meds to take 3 times a day, but told to reduce them after 4 or 5 days if no nausea. I reduced them to 2 a day when I felt OK after 5 days but perhaps I shouldn't have 

Hi Ki21 Good advice to take the anti-sickness even when you don't feel sick - I'll take 3 a day in future, even though they told me to reduce them.

Glad you feel a bit less negative. It’s such a hard journey and a feel like any little thing can set me off or make me feel really down about it all. I just remember reading that it’s easier to maintain the anti sickness rather than stop taking then and then remedy the sickness / if that makes sense. But I’m sure your team can advise or maybe change the sickness meds . Lots of love xx

Update:
Had the callback from the hospital. Told to take the anti-sickness 3 times a day and take the back-up ones, which I had stupidly forgotten about, if still nauseous.

She was very reassuring (the nurses there are lovely) and said that I could take the chemo tablets tonight if I felt OK or start again tomorrow. Apparently missing one or two lots won't have any major effect on treatment - that's what was worrying me, really.

Glad you feel reassured.I was on capox and took the anti sickness meds from the start so as to prempt any problems before they started.it worked for me
