I posted a few weeks back regarding my sister having a colonoscopy and them finding a tumour in her bowel. They never said it was definitely cancer but implied it looked suspicious. This was 3 weeks ago. She found out whilst at work that it was malignant as they updated it on her NHS app.
She had all of the CT and MRI scans before finding out so we kind of knew anyway but still not a nice way to have it confirmed.
since then, she has heard nothing from them until today. The MDT meeting was yesterday and today she received a notification that she has an in person meeting next Thursday with a colorectal surgeon that specialises in robotics.
Is this the day she gets all of her results from the scans? The communication has been so minimal it almost seems cruel. She’s had one phone call from a MacMillan nurse to just check in and told her not to stress! Which is difficult when you know you have cancer but have no clue about anything else.
is this standard treatment? Next Thursday will be 30 days since she had the colonoscopy.
Hi Budda84 Yes I think they will discuss the scan results with her and then the treatment plan. I had a call from my colorectal support nurse to confirm it was cancer and advise that I needed an MRI but then nothing until my first meeting with the consultant.
This limbo time waiting for results and meetings is very stressful but once she knows her treatment plan then things will honestly feel a bit better
Take care
