Sunday 18.27 - Anfield

RIght, I was diagnosed mid-December '17, no family history or symptoms.   Jan '18 had surgery , I remember looking around Anfield after an incredible 4-3 victory against Man City and wondering when I'd be back.  In truth it wasn't long.  Jurgen turned us from 'doubters to believers' and delivered on his promises.  2020 was great but it seemed to be happening to some other team, we weren't a part of it.  Then Jurgen left and we were back wondering.

This season has been incredible.   On Sunday I was there with one our sons, my wife was with our daughter, our other son with his girlfriend,  all in different sections but there.  My wife & me have waited 35 years for that moment and my kids an entire lifetime.  During the celebrations I remembered the wonderful team at RLUH whose skill & dedication meant I was able to be there.

No matter how dark things seem, there is a 'golden sky,' I hope all those who are recently diagnosed find there's.

YNWA, thank you Arne

Mike

  •    A non footballer myself, it took ages before I twigged what YNWA meant!!!! You always used to sign off with this, duh!!! Anyway, brilliant that you got to be there, and long may the 'golden sky' be there.

  • Thanks to everyone who dm'd me to ask if my family & me were OK on Monday, much appreciated.  It was an incredible day, even by our parade standards it was BIG with over a million partying on our streets.  The event on Water St has of course overshadowed the celebratory nature of the day.

YNWA - all thoughts with those involved
