Hi everyone,
New here.
A week now since my PET scan and two weeks from colonoscopy which revealed malignant tumour - virtually certain bowel cancer. As yet no communication from hospital so do not know if MTD has taken place. What is the usual time gap?
Am feeling OK but a bit tired. However stool colour changed yesterday to dark brown/grey (not black) so concerned about blood seepage.
Hope I hear from hospital soon as becoming increasingly anxious.
Hi ffm and a warm welcome to the board. It’s hard to say how long the results from the colonoscopy take to come back but the MDT meetings tend to be once a week so it’s maybe a bit early to start chasing things up yet?
This period of waiting for results and meetings is very stressful but once you have a treatment plan in place then things will honestly feel a bit better. Stay away from google - it can be scary and out of date - I’ve attached a link to a booklet that I was given at my first meeting which will give you an heads up on what to expected, terminology etc.

Have you been told there will be an MDT meeting? I had the colonoscopy,ct and mri then was sent an appointment for the surgeon.never had an MDT.
Everywhere is different .just thought I would mention it so you dont worry if your time line isnt the same as others on these forums.

Hi,
They tend to only hold MDTs once a week, I had my colonoscopy on 25th march, and was told immediately it was cancer, I then had my scan 5 days later. and then got the call for my 1st appointment with the surgeon a week after that. It was a really hard wait. after being told it’s cancer, to bring told how bad ect, I did really struggle emotionally while I waited. I actually wished they hadn’t told me at the colonoscopy, as I was on my own, and the wait knowing it was definitely cancer, but not how bad, was very difficult.
Once you see the surgeon, things will move very fast, you will get a lot of appointments very quickly, and will be designated to a specialist nurse as well as your surgical team.
They will answer all your questions, take someone with you if you can, to your appointments.
Sending hugs
