I spoke to a Macmillan nurse who said I will be having an operation to remove my bowel cancer that has also spread to at least two lymph nodes. I don't know when the operation will be as I shan't get an appointment until the week after next to see my consultant. I am worried that as the cancer is in my lymph nodes it might start spreading through my blood. The nurse said its a slow growing cancer but I'm nervous. I was also told I will have the operation in another town about twenty miles away and need to go there for the preassessment. I know twenty miles isn't far but I know I shall feel really isolated and afraid because I already feel scared now.
Hi,
Sending support and love as you navigate this journey. My operation is in 10 days time. I was also told that my cancer was slow growing. I have completed the pre-assessment and it was fine. All the staff were great and made it easy for me. I am willing you on. The consultant will explain things in more detail and that should reassure you. Stay strong. X
Good luck with your operation if I don't speak to you sooner x
