Hello,
I posted on here previously regarding Capox regime (4 cycles of Oxaliplatin infusion combined with Capecitabine tablets). This is post colon resection and cancer having spread to 4 in 27 lymph nodes.
Unfortunately I had a bad (and apparently rare reaction) to the Capecitabine (heart, eyes and coordination affected). So I have been off of it for two weeks and this week will start on Tomox.
Team are certain it was the Capecitabine that caused the issue and days after stopping it I had ceased to have the issues. I have some tiredness and conjunctivitis that I think is owing to the chemotherapy causing dry eye as a side effect.
If all goes well with the Tomox (Raltitrexed) infusion I will have Oxaliplatin infusion added to the last 2 cycles.
I wonder if anyone has had this combination of Tomox/ Oxa or just experience of Tomox?
I have neuropathy from the Oxaliplatin infusion that I work to control with heat pads and many layers of clothes (double socks, lined leggings, gloves and I wear a wooly hat all the time now to retain as much heat as I can!).
Any feedback gratefully appreciated.
Thank you
Good Afternoon blue skies above
I am Brian one of the Community Champions here at Macmillan. I have just noticed your post has gone unanswered. I can't answer it myself as I have a different cancer, however by me replying it will be "bumped up" to the top of the group and hopefully be seen and replied to by other members of the bowel group.
I do hope you get some answers to your questions.
Best wishes - Brian.
