Hello I am a 77 year old lady recently diagnosed with colon cancer, without symptoms.
4 weeks ago I had right hemicolectomy surgery under general and spinal anaesthesia.
All successful with minimal discomfort, 1inch scar central abdomen which is healing well. After 7 days in hospital I returned home 3 weeks ago.
Now more or less back to normal and gradually introducing the high fibre diet I am used to.
I now have received the histology report, and all clear with no further treatment. I feel so relieved and fortunate, with tears of joy!
I hope my story gives hope and encouragement to others who must feel as worried and anxious as I did before the surgery.
Happy Christmas to all !
Regards Abalone
