Hi everyone. Hope you're all ok. I was diagnosed with small bowel cancer about 3 years ago now. This developed into metastatic liver and lung cancer. I had chemo at first but it stopped working so I'm now on no treatment at all. I'm generally ok but just recently I've been feeling nauseous around about this time of day, about 3pm ish.  I feel ok the rest of the day. I've put myself back on Metoclopramide today, but just wondered if anyone else has experienced this and what helped.Relaxed

  • Hi, Ls mum. I'm so sorry to hear your story. I'm glad you're generally OK. I've just had my second round of chemo and immuno for primary oesophageal cancer, metastasised to bones and liver. (I had primary breast cancer in 2020. Just managed to fight it off and got this.) I was on Metoclopramide last time and it worked but that was taking it three times a day every day, all the time, as advised by breast cancer team.

This time, they've said take it three times a day for 3-5 days after chemo but I found I get nauseous when I stop taking it, so I'm trying three times a day every day. Please contact your specialist if you don't get relief. They might have another drug that's more helpful.

  • Thanks for reaching out so quickly. When I was on chemo I took metoclopramide and ondansetron as I got so nauseous.  I'll see how it goes for a couple of days. Thinking of you as you get your treatment

  • Thank you. I hope you feel better really soon. I've also been experimenting with lying down, propping myself up with a wedge cushion, sitting in my recliner or sitting up straight. Weirdly, sometimes standing up and wandering round the house takes the nausea away. Other times I need to lie down and nap xx
