Worried sick

Hi there I’m new here.

After severe abdominal and lower back pain, nausea and loose stools I had a FIT test this Monday which came back positive with a score of 17. I realise this is only slightly elevated, however the blood in my stools has increased and the pain is nonstop.

how worried should I be? I am on the 2WW but feeling so awful.

Hi Lottiekins82 Yes that is a pretty low but anything over 10 with symptoms is advised to be investigated further. Only 1 in 10 colonoscopies results in a bowel cancer diagnosis and there are several conditions that can cause similar symptoms like polyps, ibs, colitis, crohns, diverticulitis.
Hopefully you’ll get your appointment through soon so try not to pre-guess the outcome and stay away from google.
