Hi everyone I'm Beth 35 mummy of 3 small hoomans from West Yorkshire.
I'm just wondering if anyone has any or had some of the same signs/symptoms as me, I'm currently awaiting my colonoscopy.. So I've had bleeding/blood in stools on and off for a few years now but put that down to internal hemorrhoid, frequent bowel changes, random belly aches and when I need to go to the toilet I have to get there quick, narrow stools/ feeling like I've never fully emptied my bowels and I've just had bloods done that shows I have iron deficiency anaemia. My grandma died from bowel cancer and my dad had pre cancer polyps removed. Thank you for reading xx
Hi UnicornRider and fellow West Yorkshire woman. I’ve attached a link to a pamphlet from the bowel cancer uk page about symptoms.

Yes a lot of your symptoms are applicable to bowel cancer but also to piles, colitis, diverticulitis, crohns etc. The important thing is to get checked out thoroughly with a colonoscopy. Only 1 in 10 colonoscopies results in a bowel cancer diagnosis so please try not to worry too much, distract yourself with your 3 beautiful children and let us know how it goes?
Take care

Aww hi Karen thanks so much for your kind words and information, of course I'll keep you posted, thanks again ️ xx
Hi Beth I'm 37 and mum of a 2 yr old and 2 older step daughters. I have exactly the same symptoms as you apart from blood in stool. Waiting on a colonoscopy on Thurs this week and start double prep this afternoon.
Family history is similar - my mum has had multiple pre cancerous polyps removed over the years and is on a routine screening every 2 years.
Trying to not worry about this week. I'm usually a concentrate on the facts type. Feel quite unwell, referred for scan, have scan and then deal with outcome at the time but having such little people around needing you shakes things up a bit. Not sure how I'm going to navigate prep with my little one at home. Husband is away.
Really hope all goes OK. Please keep us posted. You're definitely not alone xx
Hello sweetheart, thank you for your kind words and support. I'm sorry to hear that your experiencing these symptoms too, it's a different way to live until we get answers isn't it?
Is your husband working away? Is there any family members or friends who can come over to try take a bit of pressure off you so you can run to loo?
Feel free to message me and we can chat if you want.
We got this :)
Xx
Hi Beth just completed 2 days of double prep, drinking liquids only and had my colonoscopy.
Scan all clear but did highlight i have some kinks and loops in my bowel which could be the cause of my bloating, sickness, pain, diarrhea, constipation you name it.
Got a follow up MRI being done to see if there are external causes and I need to review my diet to see if there are more soluble fibers I can be proactive with. Will be a mixture of tool kits to get on top of these symptoms.
Really hope your prep and scan goes OK. I'm happy to answer any questions on that if you have any. X
