  • Hi  and sorry to hear that your hubbies had a bit of a set back. I had an infected fluid build up and it took some shifting but hopefully your husband will fare a bit better?

I had to do the blood thinning injections once a day for 28 days so might be worth double checking that it is twice?

    Take care

  • The blood thinning injections will be bespoke to patient using their weight and risk of blood clots. I had to have two a day for 28 days. I was pleased when they stopped!

  • I didn’t realise that  so thanks for explaining.

Chemo caused a pulmonary embolism for me, and I’ve had 3 further surgeries, but on each occasion except after the embolism my injections have been once a day for the 28 days. After my embolism my injections, followed by tablets, continued for 5 months. Now I’m on blood thinning tablets for life after a stroke!

  • What a disappointment! I had a similar experience with expecting to go home and having it delayed. While I knew it was for my own good so they could address some complications, it still made me very sad. Give your husband a hug from me.

  • Oh gosh sounds like you had a rough ride with chemo! Yes the injections also come in different doses from 20mg to 150mg. I think I was on 40mg twice a day and that was because I’m on the larger side. I had them after giving birth to my daughter too because of my weight xx

  • Thank you all for your support and experiences.

Im taking him some jelly and custard with me tonight in hope that he’ll eat it! x
