Hi I was diagnosed with stage 4 colan cancer last November which had spread to my liver ovaries stomach and lymph nodes at the end of November I had a colostomy done I was bed bound then till January due to a growing tumour on my ovaries in January I was given 5% chance of survival after surgery. I had an 11kg tumour removed from my ovaries and the stoma made permanent I was then able to eat and for the first time felt hungry and able to walk. I have had 6 months of chemo which has helped I had my latest scan which shows everything is looking ok not increasing in size but shows some nodules on my lungs which have increased by 1mm in 2 months so have to have another scan in 6 weeks I'm just getting worried and don't know how I should feel. I don't want to go out or upset my family but I feel I'm struggling

  • Hi

You have been through so much and I sincerely hope you don’t need more intervention.

I was gutted when my mum had some nodules show up in her lungs however only one showed uptake with the pet scan . The rest were not cancerous .

Due to the robust scanning they were able to remove it quickly through keyhole surgery and she was home two days letter . It was so much easier for her than the bowel or the liver . There are other treatments like radio frequency ablation .

Its harsh waiting and I do hope it turns out to be nothing to worry about .
