Currently on 2ww lower gi cancer referral due to losing 3kg in a year and stomach pains.

Just found a letter from 18 months ago where I had ct scan with contrast thorax abdomen and pelvis. Results state. No large colonic polyp or mass. No abdominal lymphadenoppathy. No abdominal malignancy.

Not sure how fast colon cancer spreads so is this a good sign and if I do have cancer would they have caught it early? Thanks

  • Hi  Yes that sounds to be a good sign. Bowel cancer is notoriously slow growing but very treatable. Hope you get an appointment through soon x

  • Hi Stevy,

That's an excellent sign and you have every reason to be hopeful. As Karen said, most bowel cancer is very slow growing. However,  everyone is different and cancers vary. My own cancer was fast growing so I'd urge you to accept any testing they suggest. The chances of you having cancer are miniscule but your peace of mind is worth the trouble.

    Best of luck.
