Hi Feb this year I had APR surgery due to cancer on the anal verge. I was told at the time that the wound on my rear would take a long time to heal due to have radiotherapy before the surgery.
My wound is still open in one place and bleeds. I bathe it with salt water luckily there has been no infection so far.
Has anyone else had this problem? I do visit our nursing practice for them to keep an eye on it.
Hi Fantines
I'm sorry to read about the problems you're having with your wound not healing.
Although I'm not a member of this group, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.

I had APR September. I’m reassured reading the posts about this Op that it takes a long time for rear to heal and feel better. I came home with special cushion to sit on which helps. I think having the radiotherapy beforehand has probably made it remain sore for longer. Getting very fed up with it but early days
