A close family member has recently been diagnosed. A scan result has shown a spot on their liver and they are required to have 2 more scans before deciding treatment pathway. Anyone else experienced this and what it could mean? We now have a 3-4 week wait for these scans and we don’t know what the results could mean going forward. So scared. Waiting is the worst.
Hi MissPink24 Yes I had exactly the same situation and it turned out to be a harmless haemangioma. These are apparently very common in the liver and most people go through life being none the wiser unless they have this sort of scan.
Bowel cancer is very treatable (even if there was to be spread to the liver) and it is also slow growing. This time waiting for scan results is very stressful but necessary to give the experts the full picture but once you have a treatment plan in place then things will honestly feel a bit better.
Take care

Thank you for that. It’s such a worrying time and I don’t think I’m coping as well with the news as I thought I was. Can only imagine what my relative is going through. I am glad I have found this forum, there looks to be tons of info that I can get into that will help us all. I know that online community setting like this can be a great way to get support, I used something similar when I was pregnant many moons ago and it was very useful. Thank you again for your advice x
