Hi everyone
I’m fairly new to the forum but everything I’ve read is very reassuring . I’ve recently been diagnosed with an SCC and went for CT/MRI scans yesterday . I’ve just received a letter today asking me to attend a cortical general surgery clinic . This hasn’t been mentioned to me at any point ie colorectal.
the letter was issued on 23/7 but I didn’t get my scans till 26/7.
would I assume that the type of cancer I have is colorectal or will they be advising the surgery and after care or does this mean I have it . It’s really threw me . Yesterday was so scary with the CT/MRI but I managed that and it made me feel better that I had ticked that off .
Hi GG58 That all sounds a bit confusing. Is SCC skin cancer? Have you had any bowel issues or had a colonoscopy? It might be worth ringing your GP on Monday just to clarify what is going on?
Take care

Hi Karen , thanks for replying . Yes SCC (Squamish cell carcinoma ) is like a type of skin cancer . It just looks like a rash pretty near my genital area . I’ve not had any bowel issues or a colonoscopy in the past so I was really confused and upset when I received the letter today

Hi GG58 It maybe that the colorectal team deal with all cancers in that area? It’s so annoying when you get these things on a weekend but hopefully you’ll be able to find a bit more out on Monday? x
