Hi
I ve recently started chemo radiation for rectal cancer. I be noticed the skin is peeling inside my mouth. Not sure yet or impacting on eating but just wondered if anyone could recommend a mouth wash that might help. Thanks
I had really bad mouth ulcers during chemo and go given a medical mouth wash (Difflam), which numbed the pain and acted as a disinfectant but didn't heal the wounds. It also keels all the good bacteria. I then got advised to put a teaspoon of coconut oil and keep it in my mouth around 5 min before spitting it out (not in the sink, would block it) and it was miraculous. This is called oil pulling. Coconut oil is anti-inflammatory and help healing.
Hope that helps,
Cecile
