had this two years ago between operations. 2nd op, liver, missed a bit. Since then I've had two rounds of a much milder chemo whose name i forgot, but I can't use it again I'm told so back to Xelox. I've got a diary from before, useful, eg steroids were giving me problems sleeping so ended up having them at noon.
The neuropathy was not nice and I cook a lot and use the freezer a lot. So can anyone recommend any particular gloves to protect my fingers?
I also don't understand why people use cold gloves to help with neuropathy, and I'm sure I saw someone recommend a small bite of cold food.
Thanks,
Doug
My mum actually used catering gloves sometimes when cooking .
For other times she used white cotton gloves for eczema. You can get them in various sizes off Amazon. Easily washed but also a good fit so you can do things without too much restriction on your function.
All the very best with your treatment. The second year did not seem just as bad as the first for my mum . She did have a slight reduction in dose but I think the insight from the first year stood her in good stead . It also worked well again .
Take special care ,

I use cotton glove liners under a set of marigolds- this makes freezer and food prep tolerable, and keeps the cotton gloves clean for eating and all the other things like opening doors or holding a cold glass!
Great idea. I see a lot of cotton gloves though, can you tell me exactly what kind? Thanks.
No idea! My husband bought them ages ago- they have been sat in a bag in a cupboard. I'm sure any kind will do. :-)
That's fine. I'm sure I can find some! Thanks for the fast response.
