Has anyone else noticed the news article on cancer vaccine clinical trials on the NHS . The patient having the trial appeared to be a colorectal patient .
Additionally the company appeared to developing an early detection of colorectal cancer by using circulatory tumour cells or something along these lines .
I only had a quick look as I am actually on my hols for a few days but wondered if they mentioned cell types or sub types .
Anyone getting access to this and know any more ?
Is this the pipeline delivering more options ???
Take care ,
Court
Hi court It looks like it’s only just being rolled out but could be promising?
Hope you’re enjoying your hols

there are quite a few articles this morning- sounds very exciting but there is not lots of information about how to access yet etc and it sounds like it's rolling out in time- if you google there are trusts who are saying they are signed up and that seems to be spread around the UK- everything crossed
Enjoy your holiday!
that would be amazing wouldn't it, I mean obviously the sooner the better for everyone- I find it so exciting and nerve wracking I can only imagine what it must be like for the people actually working on the trials and science. Where do you have your treatment? I read your story- so glad you're doing well
Hi Rac, my husband is at Royal Surrey too, different oncologist. When this came out earlier in the year they mentioned Royal Surrey where doing the trials for stage 1 or 2, I do hope they can fast track this like the covid vaccine to give us all hope of a cure for all cancers. Nancy x
I asked cancer scientist daughter who didn't think that it was cell type specific. They take a small sample of the tumour, sequence it to look for particular mutations, then create the vaccine which will seek out those mutations and destroy them. That was the simplified version, sure it's far more complicated than that!
There was an article I saw yesterday concerning a new lung cancer tablet, lorlatinib, which is specifically for non-small cell lung cancer which seems relatively rare.
