Could someone please tell me what all these numbers mean on the TNM status.
Hi Rac
We are not medically trained on here and can only really offer support through our own circumstances.
You could post on the link below and one of the nurses would be able to give you more information. They would normally get back to you within 3 working days.
(1) Ask a Nurse - Macmillan Online Community
A quicker way would to give the Support Line a call and speak to one of the nurses who would be happy to go through it with you. The number is at the bottom of this.
Hope this helps
Jane
Hi Rac Hopefully you’ve been able to clarify it with the support desk but I’m just going to pop this link up too?

Hi Rac.
On my histology I had invasions into venous (blood vessels), lympathic and perineural (nerves). I understood these to be V, L and N respectively.
Not sure on G.
I'd ask your colorectal team to explain your report to you as it is important for you to get the right info.
Thank you, that’s very helpful. It was the v I wasn’t sure on. The specialist nurse went through the others last week. The G is the grade of cancer.
Hi Rac - please do double check each acronym with your team as it is important they explain each one to you.
Nodes I think have been tracked for quite a while. However ny understanding is that reporting invasions (V, L + PN) is a relatively new standard so making sure you understand their write up is even more important as your hospital could have different style or meaning to mine.
If you're happy to stay in touch, I'd be delighted to share our invasions experiences.
Thank you. I have an appointment to meet my oncologist on Thursday so I’ll ask then. All the other findings were explained at my original appointment with the specialist nurse but not all results were back at that point.
of course I’m happy to stay in touch
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
