Hi all
My wife finished five and a half weeks of radiotherapy and chemotherapy for rectal cancer (skin cancer) last Wednesday. She was warned that in the two to three months afterwards her rectal pain would get worse before it got better and it sure has, being especially bad on passing a motion or urinne. Morphine has so far not made a huge difference though she has been told she can take it more often if necessary. She is very tired and spending most of the day in bed. All this makes her very despondent and she sometimes wonders if she will ever get better, despite assurances from her medical team. Has anybody out there had the same experience.
Hi Susie T I didn’t suffer too badly with my chemoradiotherapy but I’ve seen posts in the past where people have struggled for several weeks after before things start to improve? I’m afraid it’s sometimes a case of listening to what your body needs and remembering the matrix of ‘this too shall pass’.
Not sure if this post is connected or just a coincidental user name but it may help?
Hope things start to improve soon and keep talking to her team for advice
Take care
