So I've spoken to my specialist nurse explained my situation and dilemma over taking lonsurf she explained his reasons behind this and it makes sense, perhaps if that had been explained initially I wouldn't have second thoughts.
Anyway I have a pre-chemo meeting next week so we'll see.
My head is mashed with all this don't give me a choice tell me what I'm having I'm at an age where I don't cope with choices ♀️
I’m so pleased to hear that you have spoken to your nurse, and that you sound reassured. I’ve taken my own advice now! I’m really struggling, so spoke to a nurse earlier. I hadn’t realised how bad I was feeling until I spoke to her. She’s speaking to my oncologist and calling me back. I don’t know what we’d do without our nurses. They really are angels. I hope your treatment going forward is manageable, and successful. Keep us posted when you can.
Quick update from me. All chemo stopped with immediate effect! The oncologist seems to think that the oxaliplatin has made the capecitabine more potent. I wasn’t expected to experience the amount, or frequency of side effects. Face to face meeting with her on 11th July. I’m going to enjoy the next fortnight chemo free.
Oh she found Oxaliplatin tough too ! Please don’t feel that as she had her dose reduced the second year and made the world of a difference.
Some people sail through but that was not my mum although it did knock the cancer back .
Hope you are starting to recover .
