I have had increased CEA levels over the last four months, my history is 2018 stage 3 colon cancer, April 2019 more colon cancer and lymphoma.

now 3 years later my latest scan has shown lymph nodes enlarged across my stomach am now meeting consultant on 5th December to discuss my condition.

Then on Friday I had a blood test I have had one every month now for four months as it showed an increase in my CEA levels, so now have an appointment at the hospital with a oncology consultant to discuss what is going on.

I have lost 9 lbs in the last month as well.

So on another journey to see where this takes me, worn out with the continued battle thought I was clear only to be hit back

  • Ah those lovely CEA levels!RageThis is how we found out hubby's cancer was back, and a CT confirmed it back in June after getting his op to remove it all in January. Our elation went to deflation in a matter of 6 months. All the best to you! I wish you well on this horrible journey we   all seem to be on. Take Care.

  • Hi

I am feeling for you and no wonder you have lost weight . What a lot of stress and pressure .

You have had a lot to process over the years .

I hope the meeting with the oncologist goes well and gives you a solution with a bit more structure around it .  Back to see the oncologist this week too . Mum has had another recurrence , really has been a chronic condition for her with a recurrence every four or five years but so much good living in between .

It’s disheartening when you were hoping to put this behind you but certainly a good treatment plan brings a lot of hope and reassurance.

My mum’s lymph nodes can react but not actually be cancer . Have you had a Pet scan ?

  • Hi colon

I can sympathise. Jay my husband has lost just over 3 stone in weight. He is a big chunky bloke mind you and could have been doing with losing it but not this way. He was at the beginning 22/23 stone which works out about 143Kg in `new money` away last year when he got his diagnosis and stoma operation, he was about 147Kg the chemo certainly causes weight loss but for some reason he is still at an acceptable weight of 19 stone. As court says, it is no wonder you are losing weight with all the stress worry. It's horrible to find out it has come back it really is! We never for a minute thought Jay's would resurface so soon but here we are after them getting it all and we were getting our lives back together and BANG! brought back down with an incredible thump! Best Wishes to you.
