Hi all. Not been on here in a while. I’m on my 7th cycle of chemo for colorectal cancer. Tumour removed in may now chemo for mopping up. I’m on Xelox regime. Throughout treatment I’ve been getting aches & pain in my lower right leg. I’ve been coping with it and wear a pressure stocking sometimes to help. But since Friday the pain has been so bad I’ve been in tears. I have a high pain threshold so am worried about it. I have varicose veins in this leg that are bad and worry that it’s DVT. I rang the chemo emergency line at my hospital and was told it’s normal side effect when taking the capecitabine. I’ve had pins snd needles throughout but they are getting worse due to the weather getting colder. Is this pain right? If I elevate my leg it helps. When I walk on it or put it down it’s worse. I’ve started taking cocodamol to help with the pain.
Thanks in advance xx
Hi Let66
My mum did have leg pain . At times it was like cramp . However given it’s only in one leg you are reporting and your history of varicose veins I would most definitely want examined in person by a Doctor .
I would trust your instincts and phone your GP .
Hope you get it resolved even just for your own peace of mind .
