I'm new to this forum, having had a colonscopy on Monday that showed a 35mm malignant lesion in my transverse colon.Although I've been losing weight for 8 weeks the scan was coincidentally part of my follow up from womb cancer two years ago (yes, twice in two years).. So, found by chance, and waiting now for biopsy results and CT scan soon so MDT can decide on treatment plan and whether this is truly colon cancer or a spread of my earlier womb one).
Feeling a bit overwhelmed by it all but hardest part currently is dealing with lack of appetite / nausea - any suggestions welcome as CNS has suggested I stick to a soft diet (challenging for a vegetarian!) until diagnosis/treatment is confirmed (and minimise risk of blockage as colonoscope couldn't get past the tumour ro the ascending colon). I expect I'll be back here with more questions before long. Wishing everyone well with their treatment.
Hi Dreamweaver and a warm welcome to the board. Sorry to hear that cancer has reared its ugly head again but hopefully you’ll get your results through quickly and a plan in place. I’ve attached a couple of links about low residue diets which will hopefully help?

It’s hard to eat when you’re feeling nauseous but try little and often and don’t worry if it’s not particularly healthy - keeping your weight up will help you cope with the treatment.
Glad you’ve found us here and please let us know how you get on?
Take care

Thank you so much Karen - both really helpful and will start sorting some meals for next few days.
I'm still struggling to eat and keep anything down - would anti-nausea drugs work? does anyone have any recommendations? I'm concerned I'm feeling quite undernourished now.
Hi - I'd phone up your CNS today and explain the situation (you've given the soft diet a good go for a whole week) and ask for (suggest?) anti-nausea drugs.
Hi Dreamweaver,
Sorry to see you here. I remember you from the womb forum!!!
I pop in here occasionally because my husband had bowel cancer. He had a lot of trouble being sick after his operation. Anti sickness pills helped, but we found the only people who helped us were the assessment unit at the bowel department of the hospital. Invariably they told us to go in so they could feed him intravenously and see what was going on. My advice would be to contact your CNS initially, but don't be fobbed off. You need all the nourishment you can get before treatment or an operation. Wishing you all the best. xx
Thanks NannyAnny i remember you too. It looks as though our local hospice offers a community based pain and nausea service so I hope to take that up to help things along. I heard today that the biopsy doesn't confirm colon cancer, nor does it confirm which organ is implicated - however it may be the pancreas :-( I've had more bloods taken this afternoon for biomarkers and likely to have scans shortly. Best wishes, Linda
I don't really know what to say to that!! Just hope they sort you out soon. xxx
