Just seen oncologist with husband who has had chemo, radiotherapy and operations on bowel and liver over last two years for bowel tumour which had spread to lungs. He has an ileostomy as part of the process. He has developed more bowel secondaries in liver and lungs which have responded well to chemo. Possible ablation on these to follow. Oncologist described other likely soots not yet visible and ongoing chemo and gave 2-3 year life expectancy. I am wary of stats but if that were the case is that from today or from when the chemo stops working down the line? Any thoughts very welcome- Thank you!
Hi ElizaViloet
I am no expert but I took these discussions as from the point of diagnosis.
However like you I think they just simply don’t apply to some people . I met a man in the hospital car park with a similar history to my mum and he is in year eight and mum year thirteen .
All the best with the latest treatment !
