Just wondered if anyone has experience of Lonsurf treatment. My husband is coming to the end of his 4th course and is experiencing extreme tiredness along with nausea and vomiting. It's very distressing. Has anyone had similar?
Hi. Thanks for replying. He has had a dose reduction to help with his low immunity levels and he had a ct scan 2 weeks ago- apparently the report will be back in 9- 11 weeks!!!! We're hoping his oncologist will be able to give feedback on the 'pictures' but at this stage I don't think he is high priority. We just need to know if this discomfort is a result of the Lonsurf working as if it isn't, maybe he shouldn't continue taking it. It feels like we have had 2 years of waiting for one thing or another. Anyway, I appreciate you taking time to write.
Hi ,
Totally agree , he needs to know if it’s working . That’s absolutely disgraceful on the scan results I am so sorry he is having to wait so long . Sometimes we were able to get them from the GP if there was a big delay .
Is his CEA sensitive ?
Its so unfair to keep you waiting .
Hope he gets some help soon .

Hi. Yes he is CEA sensitive. He has an appointment at the 'Cancer Club' - as he calls it! - on Wednesday for the next course of tablets, following his blood test on Tuesday, so we should be able to find out if the CEA is levelling off or whatever. In the meantime we'll attempt to contact the Oncologist. What a game!!!
Thanks for your help
