Very sore bottom

I had my second colon cancer operation in April 2019 taking away 80% of my colon.

my toilet was about 12 times a day, my consultant put me on Imodium and codeine to control it.

I am now up to 10 Imodium and 69mg of codeine a day.

I have had episodes of a very sore bottom which the doctor put me on a steroid cream my consultant took me off it as long term it would damage my skin.

I started using a barrier cream and Germaliod cream to help me.

over the last three years I have had episodes of a very sore bottom but this has gone away in about a week.

over the last six weeks my bottom has got sorer and sorer and the cream is not helping.

Has anyone had this experience and got a long term solution.

As a footnote after three year I have now got enlarged lymph nodes (they found lymphoma in my second op) and my CEA has rapidly risen and the consultant fears that my cancer has come back

  • Hi Colon I’m sorry that you’ve had this frightening news that your levels are rising

Ill be thinking of you  keep us posted

im in a different situation as I’ve recently had a reversal so my bottom has be shut for thirteen months. Now it’s fully open for business it’s very sore. Even toilet paper feels like sand paper. I’m using creams out on the paper to apply. I’m not keen on wipes so I have just received my order for two portable bidets. Sounds posh but it’s a small bottle with a long apt nozzle that squirts water where it’s directed. This way I don’t need to touch the sore area other than a dab to dry. Then I can apply cream or just leave. The sting is definitely better.
I have been recommended a cream in another post I will retrieve it for you so you may find it useful
