Pins & Needles Kicking In

So Jay went for his Oxi infusion at hospital yesterday and as I said they upped his dosage but `oh my` the neuropathy is kicking in big time!  It's actually affecting his feet now seems to just affect one side he says, and he feels it bad when his feet are on the cold floor. The back of his hand is a bit sore and stiff today, but he gets that for a day or so and it lifts. Poor soul he's missing his ice drinks that he loves because he just can't hold the glass or go near the fridge just now because he has no feeling in his fingers and is walking about with gloves on. This too only lasts for so many days and lifts again but this time it's in his feet too.  Thats a sign for me though that something is happening somewhere as he is getting this side effect. But if that's all he is experiencing, nothing much to complain about. Take Care everyone.

  • . Yes that’s the chemo getting right to the tips of his toes. Make sure he keeps his feet well moisturised and socks are a must. I found blackcurrant squash with a splash of warm water to take the edge off to be quite enjoyable.
    Have a good weekend

  • Thanks Karen,

He's not too bad today. He's got fur lined slippers so he's wearing them he usually wears flip flops round the house, but he says the slippers keep his feet warm, so he doesn't feel the pins n needles so much. He misses his ice-cold drinks though has to have drinks with tons of ice, but he just can't hold them in his hands just now this goes on for about a week and then he can go back to them again. He's not much of a socks person but does wear them occasionally. It's the tablet thing that's starting to get to him with how many he has to take along with his diabetes medication. Oh the joys!
