Covid Booster Jab Postponed

So, Jay had to go for his covid booster jab this coming Monday (3rd October) I forgot to ask this morning if it was still ok for him to get this but managed to get a hold of one of the colorectal nurses who strongly advised against it because she said it wasn't recommended 48 hours after a chemo infusion and with them upping his infusion dosage even more so, so that's what we've done. Just trying to get a re-scheduled appointment though which has taken us into November- November the 5th no less so hopefully there won't be fireworks beforehand or afterWinkBlush. but he! better safe than sorry.

  • Hi  - good job you checked! I had an appointment for Friday but I’m having a hip replacement next Thursday and, when I googled it, it said it wasn’t advised as they wouldn’t know if any reaction or high temperature would relate to the op or the booster so presumably the same principal for the chemo? I shall rebook mine when I’m mobile again!

Hope Jays next session goes well

    Take care

  • Karen All the best with your hip replacement.is it your first or second?.I had both replaced before my cancer.Thought all would be quiet health wise for a while once I had those sorted.it wasnt to be.never mind.hips were fine.

  • . Thanks Kath. It’s my 2nd -had the 1st one done in March as it was bone on bone and hoped I’d get a bit longer out of my other one but it’s obviously jealous! Thought I’d better get the ball rolling early so was pleasantly surprised to get a date within a couple of months of seeing the consultant. Started having problems after falling on black ice and landing on my bum at the end of 2014. Snapped my humerus bone so was in a cast for 6 weeks but they told me the hip issues were due to muscle weakness but I’m not so sure now. The cancer diagnosis in 2016 pushed my hips onto the back burner so I’m getting caught up now!
Hopefully this will be it for a while and I can hit my 60s in December running - or just normal walking would be nice Joy x
