Went to see my oncologist Thursday it was a good meeting said he's very pleased with me bloods are very good, liver function down to 46 from 72 kidney function normal CEA was 10 he said in aug after 1st round it dropped to 8.7 but it can spike on chemo.
My daughter asked about Avastin but we have to pay for it
Hes booked a scan for round 6 then see what's going on he said I may get a break but I'll be on maintenance chemo fir the foreseeable future which didn't thrill me but compared to the alternative I'll do it.
Round 4 Friday its not going to beat me !!
Hi HazG
Thats a fantastic outcome and sounds as though your current treatment is doing it’s job despite not having Avastin .
That downward trajectory of the CEA is what they like to see . Mum’s did that spiking thing too .
I hear you on the maintenance chemo aspect and hope you do get a good break .
Your are quite incredible the way you have been dealing with this .
Take care ,
