Hey Guys,
So hair straightening I know in the booklet it says not to, avoid all heat appliances but does anyone still use their heat tools, I know my hair may thin, it may all fall out but on days where you have to go out and look presentable do you still use them any heat tool for that matter… again I know this is a trivial question but thought I would ask just in case there is someone out there that could advise
Thanks
Vic
Is that on Chemo? I never had such advice when I was on it for 5 months. I carried on as normal; including sitting out in the sunshine. Perhaps things have changed since 2020?
Sorry yea I start chemo Wednesday and I’ve just had my hair cut in to a bob which ideally needs straightening now and again but in the book I’m just reading now it’s like no to all heat tools x
How strange - that's all very new to me. Perhaps best to have a chat with one of your colorectal nurses to clarify?

I’m on 9 of 12 cycles and my hair is so thin now - had a chop a few weeks ago…at the hairdressers she said avoid using straighteners as pulls the hair too much and to brush hair from bottom up. Use a tangle teaser brush and just be gentle. I confess I still use them but only once a week and only when hair dry so minimal use. If your hair is already falling out then go easy on it…! I’m now having to look into wigs…so I’m now stopping doing anything stressful on my hair. I’ve had 10 inches cut off and I miss my long blonde locks!
I had a prescription for a wig and there were some great ones available.however I did spend a little more for an even better one.also the ladies in the wig shop made me feel so special that it was a lovely experiance choosing one.I hope you have the same
