Hi I have a number of question some may appear daft.
Do you need to notify DVLA that you are on chemo? Are there any restrictions?
I am due to start chemo on 19th Sept (pre Queen) I going on capecitabine tablets but not had any updates how and when do yi get the tablets.
I have been reading lots of really helpful info. I have question regarding the codes that lots of people use. So I was stage 3 had surgery which went well. The results showed that the wall had breached 2 levels of the wall but that was it. I had 30 lymph nodes removed all clear so I downgraded to stage 2. However the results show some cancer cells in the blood vessels hence the 8 cycles of chemo . Could someone tell me what my code is please.

I will also tag Gemmary I think she might have had tablet only chemo .
Its all done by the hospital pharmacy. You get blood tests the day before to ensure all is good with blood panels etc but I am not quite sure when you get the tablets . My mum had an infusion then got the oral meds to take home at the end of her cycle .
Take care ,

Hi, your staging is very similar to mine. I started off as T3N1M0, but after surgery and biopsy (0/40 lymph nodes but vascular invasion) they changed it to T3N0 V1M0, which I think is what you will be. I too had chemo after, but mine was 30 weeks 5FU/FA by IV. I believe the capecitabine transforms to a form of 5FU in the body. Can't help when you might get the tablets, but they like the wound to heal first. Healing is fast cell growth, just like cancer, but you need this!! Mine started 8 weeks after the operation. Hope this helps, and all the best.
Hi kiwimel
Did you ever manage to find out the answer re DVLA and whether we need to involve them?
This is off the dvla site about driving
Hi kiwimel
might be worth checking your personal driving insurance also!!
some insurances can have different ‘ get out clauses’
in no way am I saying you would be in an accident ,, but even a bump caused by another driver … just take an hour to read through your insurance.
if you don’t have a paper copy , maybe in your emails or get intouch with company ask for a copy
