Hi Everyone!
Jay was out today on his own in the car. He went to get some shopping and came outside the supermarket and felt really dizzy. He phoned me in a bit of a state and was just sitting in the car composing himself before coming home. Said he felt the ground was moving and could see cars moving although they were stationery. He's getting Oxaliplatin and Capecitabine treatment for his cancer. Just wondering if anyone else who has had this has experienced this. He has type 2 diabetes too so just wondering if its something to do with his blood sugar as well. He is due to go to the docotors tomorrow for blood tests relating to the chemo treatment I think to check his blood count and I think they are going to check his blood sugars too. He was put on an extra tablet for his diabetes `Forxiga` along with his Metformin because his blood sugars was a bit high but just wondering now if it has gone the other way and his blood sugar is too low or if its something to do with the cancer drugs. He's also been feeling very hot recently too. The hospital gave us away one of those wee digital thermometers to check his temperature incase of infection and it has fell within the level just below the 37.5 which they said is ok anything up to that is fine but over that may suggest infection. As I write this he has just come in and says he feels ok now I asked him that we should report it but he doesn't want to and will let the staff know at the hospital on Friday when he goes for his chemo infusion or at the GP surgery tomorrow. He thinks he may have just got out the car too quick but gave himself such a fright he said. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this.
Hi PattyK
I would definitely phone his team/ or Gp and get that checked out . It could be so many other things but they might want to run a few tests on him .
Did you mention he was diabetic too?
Best to check all things out .
Take care ,

Hi Thanks!
No Katz he's not on high blood pressure medication and yes Court he does have type 2 diabetes. I did say to him today when he came in that we should report it but he says he doesn't want to but trying to get it through to him that these things need to be reported is like talking to a brick wall!! He's at the doctor tomorrow as I said, to get his blood tests done, and I've told him he needs to let them know but he said they wouldn't do anything about that but at least it will have been recorded. We go to see the oncologist on Thursday this week too before we go on Friday to get his chemo infusion so if he doesn't i'll mention it because all these things need to be reported while on this treatment. It may be nothing at all related to the cancer treatment but better safe than sorry. Hoping it's in relation to his diabetes because that way they can adjust his meds for that maybe mean taking him off that extra tablet that was to help bring down his blood sugar levels maybe it's went the other way and blood sugars are too low. Thanks again.
