Treadmill test before chemo??

I’m sorry to hear that you’re understandably worried about having a treadmill test when you have mobility issues. I wonder if this is a new thing to determine if you’re up to withstanding chemo. I hope someone with experience of this comes along soon. I’m not in the same situation, but was surprised that I have to have a fitness test and a meeting with an anaesthetist before I can have surgery! The mind boggles as to who comes up with these things. Take care.

Dont worry too much.I had 2 new hips before doing the static bike test before my op and they do take anything like that into consideration  I think everywhere is different as I did nothing like that before my follow up chemo.mind you unlike jooles I didnt meet the anaesthetist until in the theatre ante room before my operation.so as I said everywhere does things differently

I didn't meet the anaesthetist for my bowel resection until I was on the operating table. I joked about make sure you wake me up, but not mid op! I didn't do any fitness test for that one either.

• Mine gave me a choice of music to go to sleep too.I chose "fairytale of new york" the pogues.Im an old folkie at heart

No apology necessary. You didn’t misunderstand. I am expecting to meet my anaesthetist for my liver resection. I’m hoping that my surgery will then be within the month. I love the fact you were given a choice to listen to music albeit briefly! Great song choice.

Thank you both thats reassured me a bit, Jools63 and katz51 it's just nice to get someone else's perspective , my mind can run mad.
