Hi, I’ve not posted in a while as life just passes far too quickly. My partner got diagnosed in February 2022, stage 4, hes had chemo and panni targeted treatment, a sepsis scare, and a Lung PE, but still we go for walks when we can. Primary in bowel shrank by 50%!!! But mets to near enough everywhere, one last shot at chemo and radiotherapy, and oh we can pay £2000 a month for a private treatment, that just isn’t feasible on my wage. It sounds like the oncologist has given up before we’ve even started! Why does stage 4 lack so much funding?! The targeted treatment has been stopped due to funding even though it clearly worked in shrinking the primary!! So upset and frustrated
So sorry to hear this LorraineT ,
Sometimes this is a good point to get a second opinion to see if another clinician would approach it in a different way . Has his team talked about clinical trials ?
I would most certainly think asking another oncologist for their views would possible help to make sure all options are thoroughly explored.
