Superstition

Hi Everyone!!

This is nothing much to do with cancer but just might be. Is anyone who comes on here superstitious?? I ask this because something really strange happened to us when we were at the caravan last weekend. As it was quite warm we sat with the door open and all of a sudden this little bird flew in with great speed and hit the front window with force falling to the floor. Jay picked the wee soul up and took it outside and tried rubbing its chest and blowing on its head incase the wee thing was just `stunned` and would come back to life but unfortunately it died. Now I'm very superstitious about this as this happened to us before at the caravan last year just before Jay got his first cancer diagnosis a bird hit the same window on the outside and I think the same thing happened I lifted the little bird up and put it on the ground outside but not really sure if it came back to life. This one at the weekend though never survived so I looked this up and it says there's omens attached to that may be good or bad. Some were saying `its your guardian angel` letting you know everything will be well etc but then they say it could be a good or bad omen depending on what happens to the bird if it dies or survives. Last year it happened the day before Jay got his official cancer diagnosis and they said it was treatable so I don't know if this wee bird has been `sent` to tell us everything is going to work out again. I really do hope so. Does anyone else think there is something in this or it's just `hocus pocus` `mumbo jumbo`?? Maybe give some of you a laugh if nothing else.

  • If you believe your guardian angel is watching over you it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.  Best wishes.

  • Hi Vicky

It doesn’t make me laugh-I’m a big believer in signs personally. We have been having an EXTREMELY stressful time in our lives recently, not health related, but very difficult.

At the worst of it, the feathers started coming. White ones from nowhere, even in the dining room,  and then suddenly on several occasions black ones-big black ones suddenly landing right at our feet when sitting out in the garden. My partner has done development work in spiritualist circles, and is very intuitive, so we looked it up and it was all about being protected-someone from our guardian angels was looking out for us.

Then out of the blue one day just after one of these black feather incidents, a friend who is a medium and healer messaged to say she didn’t know what was happening with us but she’d had a message from spirit to say that everything was going to work out, but for now we had to keep our counsel and not talk about it, just quietly work away at getting it resolved. We were to be patient and know that we were being helped. We had a lot of strength around us and we were being protected and guided.

She hoped this made sense to us, and it absolutely did! She had no idea what we were going through as we hadn’t told a soul. But this to me was amazing!

So while I don’t call it superstition, I’m right there with you in believing in signs. We just need to open our eyes and ask for help. Already things about our situation are resolving in our favour, and I do believe we are being guided on what to do.

I have no problem when others don’t believe in any of this stuff, each to their own and all that, but I choose to believe. There’s been too much happen in my life to make it any other way for me.

  • Thanks Sarah!

Not just me then? I am VERY superstitious. I'm the one who will say `Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening` to a Magpie if I see only one. If I get itchy palms left and right hands I believe I will get money (left) and have to give it away (right) If my ears burn someone is talking about me, never walk under ladders etc etc. The bird thing was so weird and so ironic that it happened a year between Jay getting his cancer diagnosis and now has to go through more treatment. I just hope this recent one has really been `a sign` and as I said the wee bird was `sent` to tell us that everything is going to work out just fine but sadly the wee bird was sacrificed (oh dear that sounds like something from a `cult`).  Well they always say you're `guardian angel` is watching over you somewhere I just hope that was her/him.

  • I'm with you on the feathers thing too Sarah. Recently I've seen black feathers in front of me when outside and on other occasions white ones. I don't know the significance of these but seemingly these are omens too.

  • Thank you Sapphire!  I do like to believe that there is a guardian angel somewhere looking out for us.

  • Good omens we have found! I believe we all have guardian angels watching over us.
