Hi guys,

So I’ve got my oncologist apt through and it’s for this Wednesday so I was just wondering what to expect

Thanks

  • It will all be dependent on your Diagnosis/Situ of your Cancer, & following MDT Meeeting on you personally - either prior or after an Op.

  • My first appointment with my oncologist for bowel cancer was a very positive experience. I went armed with questions and he answered them all in a very kind way. My husband asked if there was anything I’d done to cause the cancer, very tactful, and he said no! I didn’t ask about what stage mine was as I didn’t think it would be helpful. I did ask further along the process. If you can write down any questions you’ve thought of , or have anyone close you can ask for their input, it’s really useful. Wishing you a very positive appointment, and lots of luck going forward.

  • Thank you, I’ve had the tumour removed so this is like mop up chemo as a precautionary measure the nurse said x

  • Hi . The oncologist will discuss which chemo they think you would benefit from so you might want to ask

how many sessions and over how long

What are the short term and long term side effects

What the increase in survival benefit would be

Will I need a picc line
