Hi everyone
I had my colonoscopy 8 days ago where 14 biopsies were taken.
I am asking if anyone has any idea of when to expect my results.
how long has anyone waited?
the waiting is awful
thanka
Hi Bumsandtums
The waiting is so hard. My mind went into overdrive although I was pulled in quite quickly. Straight after my colonoscopy I was in a private room with my husband and a named nurse I was close to blocking as it was huge I had no spread
Hope this gives you some reassurance
So hopefully there’s nothing to worry about.
Do you have a nurse to call on your colonoscopy form.
You may be able to ask if there’s any results.
Fingers crossed you’re clear. If not Bowel cancer is really treatable.
Keep us updated.

I had my colonoscopy on the 11th June and was told after they found my other half, that I had tumors, they then booked me a CT scan and an MRI all within 2 weeks, so I'm guessing if they had found anything worrying you'd have been told ans sent for scans very quickly. It's worrying after they take biopsies, but fingers crossed it's a good sign, if not then these people on here are gold standard, they can answer anything and great support too.
Hi Artsie, I saw consultant at Manchester on Wednesday, about possibility of TEMS, but as a lymph node is also showing up he can't do it, so it will be the big op. I rang my local colorectal nurse, she spoke to the consultant I first saw, Chris Smart, he's willing to do the op asap, St the local hospital, so I will be seeing him next week and having pre op assessment, then I have to have all my rectum and the lymph node out, will have a stoma, fingers crossed it will only be temporary, I don't know if I may need radiotherapy or chemo, it was thrown in as part of the plan, as the node is showing up on scan. I feel so much better now I know that somethings being planned amd hopefully at the end of August I'll be having the op. Now just wondering what pain is like post op I had a hysterectomy and flew through it, out of hospital in 3 days, hoping it's like that. I'm just glad I have something to work towards. Mr Donnelly at Manchester told me he couldn't do the TEMS as my node was infected, before I had the procedure, so at a loss as to why he needed to see me, but I guess they have ro cover all bases. Hope you're doing well Artise, thanks for asking and for the support you've been xx
Hi MIssTee
Thats really good news to have the treatment plan is the beginning of getting rid of the cancer. I had a LAR. It was a longer recovery for me as I was keyhole and incision. He lifted my bowel out to get at my cancer. So I was tender for a while. But so worth it and I was positively joyful when I felt my Ileostomy because I knew they’d got it out.
Keep us updated.

Thanks for your reply
after mine she said she removed some polyps and had inflammation to top of colon and anus which was her concern Jensen 14 biopsies.
imooling at this as normal as I’ve just called consultants secretary and nothing back yet so assuming nothing to find or worry about fingers crossed xx
hi bumsandtums
I agree with you. If there’s a speed in there diagnosis that could mean that you’re okay as they’re slow to get back.
Were you given a colorectal nurse? I found them so supportive
Ann
Hi Artsie, my tumor is so low, only 4cms inside my bottom, I'm sure it'll go well, I trust Chris Smart, and feel better knowing somethings gonna happen soon. The only details I know for sure are what I've already said, I'm still new to all the jargon, but I'll keep people updated. There's so much more treatment now, but the waiting was worse, not knowing anything was really getting to me, at least my islands seems to have stopped getting smaller now! Thanks for all your help and everyone else who helped to prop me up when I was sinking.
