Hello everyone. I started capox chemo today (4 cycles). Went on, but my mind, as per, is jumping about. I went to see the dentist about a month ago for a check up and told there was a small area of infection under an old filling, prob been there for years the dentist said. I wasn’t able to get this sorted before starting chemo and had a bad reaction to the week of radiotherapy, which put the dental thing out of my mind. I’m now in a bit of a panic thinking about all we are told about infections etc. I have left a message with the oncology team at the hospital (they have a brilliant team of colorectal nurse specialists). Just wondering if anyone here has expressed of anything similar? Many thanks. Moira
Hi Moirq. Chemo makes you more susceptible to infections as it lowers your white cell count. If you’re worried you could give the support team on here a quick ring? The number is under my name
Take care
