Hi all. I have stage 3 bowel cancer and am due for surgery on Wednesday, I have been on a low fibre diet for a week and laxatives for a week as per the consultants instructions. He has also requested that I have the dreaded Movi prep over 2 days starting tomorrow but nobody has given been any instructions when to take them and eating? Can anyone helpas I have to start tomorrow and am then due at the hospital at 16.00 on Tuesday?
Sorry I cant help as I didnt have to have anything before my op as they were removing the whole bowel
Seems odd there is no instruction leaflet with the moviprep.there was when I had a colonoscopy.
Def worth a phone call

Hi kiwimel.
I had Moviprep before my surgery. I didn't have to change my diet beforehand. I was due at the hospital at 7 am on the Wednesday and was able to eat normally until the Tuesday lunchtime. I was also given protein drinks to have the night before and on the morning of my surgery. I was allowed black coffee and tea and water until 6 am on the morning of my surgery. I was given an information leaflet with the Moviprep detailing what I needed to do. Maybe give your team a call to discuss further. Best wishes for your surgery and recovery.
