Hi all
21 AFAB here. I’ve recently had blood clots passing from my back passage, and then had a positive FIT, as well as a doctor doing a DRE and finding “a lump”. I’ve also got abdominal pain that’s worse after eating, and chronically loose stool (3 years and counting).
Awaiting a response from the colorectal team (hopefully will have an appointment on the 12th of July to discuss options).
I know in my heart that colorectal cancer is rare in people my age, but do these symptoms sound similar to anyone who has gone on to be diagnosed with colorectal cancer? Honestly, I’ve been waiting so long for answers that hearing that it’s cancer would provide some kind of relief: at least I’d know it’s not just me.
Thanks in advance!
Hi Bluebee8089 and a warm welcome to the board. Yes those are some of the symptons for Bowel cancer but also for piles, crohns, colitis, diverticulitis. Bowel cancer is rare in someone so young but not unheard of - the important thing is that you’re being seen and hopefully a colonoscopy will give you an answer to your issues. Only 1 in 10 colonoscopies result in a bowel cancer diagnosis so please come back and let us know how you get on?
Take care
Karen x
