Anyone tried self irrigation each day , it's been a game changer for me .
That really interesting Longfellow . If your up for sharing more I would bookmark it to use as a resource for others .
I often wonder why we don’t see more of this topic on the boards . The stoma group also might be interested in this topic .
Take care ,

Hi Longfellow
Do you mean irrigation with a colostomy? I was told by my colorectal surgeon that I’d potentially be a good candidate for this, but have not yet investigated further. It would be very helpful to hear some more. I was told I’d need to be trained up in the procedure by the stoma nurse, but I wondered if I wanted to invest the time each day when changing the bag is so quick.
It would be really useful to hear more and I’m sure there would be interest in the stoma group-it’s not something we see discussed there.

Hi Sarah ,
It takes about 40 mins each morning and then that's it for the day and night . I also were a stoma plug which is just like having nothing more than a plaster over the stoma , not a big bag sticking out .
It's helped my confidence .
Hi Longfellow. This is the Bowel cancer one and there’s a separate one for stomas but posting on here isn’t a problem. Link to stoma group below
