Hi all.
Currently on my 2nd week of capox chemotherapy after 6 weeks of combined chemo/radiotherapy.
I was warned and prepared for the strange over sensitivity to cold and tingly finger tips but I've now realised that I have no fingerprints. Tips of my fingers are completely smooth!
Although this may come in handy if I decide on a life of petty crime, it is a bit concerning. Has anyone else had this odd side effect and if so, will my prints ever return?
Yes, I had this following Capecitabine Tabs. 2 years ago. They did return - but I had to do my fingerprint on my phone again - so presumably they are new prints?!
I had capox 2 yrs ago and lost mine.even now I sometimes find it hard to make contact on phones, tablets etc
It has been mentioned on other threads that we should get together for a bank heist
all the best
At the end of the day if thats all we get left with as a lasting side effect its not too bad

I know this thread is years old, so I probably should start a new one, but I wonder how long people have found it to get their fingerprints back?
I did 8 cycles of Capecitabin, and while my fingerprints are not completely gone, I can't use them to access my phone and associated apps. It has been 5 weeks since my last chemo pills, and most things I am reading online say that fingerprints will come back after 2-4 weeks.
Does anyone have any advice? TIA.
Mine have never fully returned even after 5 yrs.I still sometimes have problems on screens.
Still if thats the only side effect I am left with I can deal with that

I don’t think my finger prints ever disappeared, a t least they seem to be recognised by my iPad. However, as a few others have said above, my interaction with my iPad screen and other touchscreen devices is weird, inaccurate, vague. Not really sure how to describe it but I don’t seem to get the feedback, probably due to not being able to feel the ends of them anymore.

Thanks for the input. Yes, mine also feel weird at times, like they are plastic-coated or something, but that does seem to be getting better slowly.
If I remember correctly it took mine a couple of months to return. It may have been sooner but I got so used to it I may not have noticed immediately. Didn't bother me at all though, in fact I thought it was hilarious.
