Stage 3 rectal cancer and quite a way into treatment now.
Had stoma put in end of Jan. Then started did 6 weeks of combined radiotherapy and capecitabine chemo, without too much trouble.
After a 3 week break I'm now starting on a course of capox chemotherapy. Which is odd to say the least. Finger tingles, no cold drinks etc.
The concern I have is part of the regime is a daily dose (80mg) of co-trimoxazole. I know it's a powerful antibiotic but from what I've read it's not commonly used for rectal cancer. In fact some NHS reports I've seen advise against it if possible.
Has anyone here had or is having similar treatment? If so what was your experience?
I thanks in advance
