Hi, my partner hes just started Panitumumab last Thursday, he’s having it two weekly going forward. He has capecitabine and Oxaliplatin fourth lot now. Usually he’s OK on the capecit and oxali. fatigued etc but today he’s just not himself, that’s what makes me think it’s the panitumumab, he’s woke up with the Pani rash, his temp is fine, but just keeps telling me he doesn’t feel ‘right’ He doesn’t want me to ring anyone for advice as he’s worried they’ll stop the treatment. We’ve been for a walk and I know it was a struggle but he wanted to. He’s eating and drinking fine. If anyone has any advice I’d really appreciate it x

  • HI Lorrainet

    I'm on the same medication,

Please get him to phone the helpline he has been given. They will not stop his treatment unless they really have to for his safety, but they can tweak amounts and add some mediations to help with side affects. A good chat with his cancer nurse would be a good thing and put his and your worries at rest.

Hope this helps and best wishes to you both,

    Kettleson x

  • Hi Kettleson, we’ve not been given any number, do you think it’s just be the centre where he’s goes for it? Can I ask how long have you been on it, and how are your side effects if you don’t mind me asking x

  • You can phone the department that administers his chemo and asked to be put through to the specialist nurse for his oncologist . You could also ask for their helpline number as it’s really handy to know it .

Hope he picks up soon .
